Mount Rushmore
It is just one of the cliffs of this mountain which presents one of the most famous sculpture of the world: the four faces of famous American presidents (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln), respectively, chosen as symbols of birth, growth, conservation and development of the United States were in fact carved by Charles E. Rushmore, a New York lawyer who in 1885 was conducting a study on mining in the Black Hills and he named the mountain. About 18 meters high, the work is an important tourist destination for the natural beauty of the Black Hills, too, and is the symbol of the first 150 years of American history. The sculpture is, therefore, a step Compulsory for those who love art, history and culture. |
