Alcatraz
Located in the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz Island has a very particular history and is now a tourist destination not to be missed for lovers of culture. In the early seventies, Alcatraz became a national recreation area in 1986 and was listed as a National Historic Landmark. Always nicknamed The Rock (The Rock), having regard to the constitution of the rock of the island is formed, the island is also known as The Bastion, because it seemed impossible to imagine an escape from the famous prison. Today the island is a popular tourist destination in California, and always there are guided tours to discover a part of American history. It is no coincidence that the island has often been the stage of films, cartoons, comics and games. |
