Nevsky Prospect
Built at the behest of Peter the Great with the intent to connect the city to Veliky Novgorod at first and then in Moscow, Nevsky Prospect is the main street of the city of St. Petersburg and is undoubtedly the most famous of all Russia: walking along the road, which stretches for about 5 km, you can admire majestic buildings as the Russian National Library, the literary Café, the Stroganov Palace, churches of various denominations and even fine monuments, one dedicated to Catherine the Great in Ostrovsky Square or beautiful statues of horses located near the Bridge Anichkov. It's just on the Nevsky Prospekt that you can find most of the shops of the city, where a merry nightlife should not miss as well as the massive Mall of the eighteenth century that deserves a visit after admiring the splendid luxurious palaces that are located close to the road. |
