Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Full of charm, the legendary Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock) is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in Australia. Located in the southern part of the Northern Territory, a few hundred kilometers from Alice Springs, Ayers Rock is a sacred place for Aboriginal people and is the most impressive rock formation of the Australian outback. Natural symbol of Australia, the rocky outcrop reaches a height as to be visible miles away. The surface is almost completely smooth from a distance, but it reveals many springs, ponds, caves, peculiar erosion and ancient paintings by approaching it. Known for the red color, which surprisingly changes (ocher, gold, bronze, purple) depending on time of day and season, Ayers Rock is definitely a destination not to be missed by both hikers and nature lovers. It is no coincidence, in fact, this natural attraction is listed among the UNESCO World Heritage: with its spectacular features, the Ayers Rock will be able to excite its visitors with unique and unforgettable emotions. |
