Trdelník
Of probable origins of Eastern Transylvania (namely the Székely Land), the trdelník (sometimes called trdlo) is a delicious dessert known and appreciated in various parts of Eastern Europe (where it is clearly known by other names), and is a unique delicacy to be tasted at any time of the day, such as during a pleasant walk through the streets of the city. This delicacy, unique in its kind, is made using a delicious mixture (a kind of sweet bread) that is wound around a metal stick and then be sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Then the dough is baked in a special oven equipped with a mechanism that makes it rotate so that the cooking is uniform. When cooked, the sugar dissolves gilding the sleeve, creating a colorful and crunchy coating on the cake. A unique delicacy for those who love the sweet taste of tradition. |
