Port wine
Portuguese fortified wine from fine taste with delicious chocolate and white milk, and dark, the latter option is the most popular and recommended. The Port is produced exclusively from grapes from the Douro region, which is about 100 kilometers east of the city of Oporto, and usually is poured into a glass designed specifically for this type of fine wine: the glass it is up to allow more complex aromas to develop, in addition the glass of Port is also close, given the alcohol content that sets it apart (about 20 °), an amount not exaggerated enough to be tasted. White or red, the port is characterized by a particularly good taste and flavor, ideal for a dinner or a lunch with good food. The Port also has seven variants: the White Harbor for example, made exclusively from white grapes, is left to age in large oak barrels, and is the only port wine classified by degree of sweetness. Dry, semi-dry or sweet, white port approaches generally based dishes of cheese, with dried fruit and nuts. If drank fresh, however, is to combine with fish and, because of its mode of production, listed as dry white port (ideal, with olives and almonds for a drink) is not completely dry, and keep a part of its initial sweetness. Another type of Porto is the ruby, a fine red wine, also left to age in casks, very fruity, intense ruby ??color and aromatic flavor of red fruits (such as berries and plums), with the characteristics of wines young people, ideal to accompany such a good plate of risotto, especially risotto Porto. Another type of red wine are the tawny Port: produced with the same grapes as the ruby ??aging in barrels for only two or three years, oxidizing, age more rapidly than ruby, so lost in time the original color of ruby ??red to assume a lighter shade, amber, and an aromatic flavor of nuts, such as walnuts or almonds. The tawny, with aging earn further aromatic complexity, reinforcing the scent of dried fruit and acquiring flavors ranging from roasted coffee, chocolate and honey. Excellent for dessert, twany are to be combined for example with various delicacies like crème brulèe, figs, almonds and caramel and is perfect to finish off a class with lunch or a nice dinner with good food. But the type of Port is undoubtedly the most valuable vintage: made from grapes of a single vintage, vintage is aged in barrels initially and then be subjected to a second aging in bottle, whose prestige is due to several factors, not past the quality of the grapes used (whose only harvest takes place during the great years) and the time of aging, which normally reaches even decades. The vintage is excellent with desserts and chocolate.
