The Village
Thanks to its strategic location, the mediaeval village of Bard has been a sure bulwark against the invasions since ancient times, and it is today one of the most astonishing place in the entire valley and, moreover, it's been able to keep its arc style rich in mullioned and crossed windows. Currently in the old town you can visit the beautiful Challant House, home to an exhibition dedicated to the restoration work, carried out with the contribution of the European community, for the recovery of the village itself. Here you can admire buildings of rare beauty, like the Bishop's House, House of sundials, Casa Valperga and the elegant Ciucca House, the palace of the noble Nicole, recent counts of Bard. |
