Friendship cup
Commonly and erroneously known as the grolla (beaker, which in reality with this name designates a container taller and narrower) or grolla dell'amicizia (friendship beaker), the friendship cup (coppa dell'amicizia) is a vessel typical of the Val d'Aosta with several spouts from which you can have a drink with coffee and brandy or other liquor, which is in fact called the Valle d'Aosta coffee and just as the name suggests, is to drink in the pleasant company of friends and family. Richly carved, the friendship cup contains a number of spouts variable that depends on the capacity of the cup itself and is able to create a pleasant environment harmonious with friends after having skied the most beautiful ski slopes of Val d'Aosta. |
