Madonna di Campiglio, which presents a particular elegance, is known as La Perla delle Dolomiti del Brenta (Brenta Dolomite Pearl).
Placed at 1,550 meters above sea level inside the wonderful valley between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Pressanella galcier, this splendid place is nowadays one of the most important skiing resort in Italy and in all the alpine zone. Madonna di Campiglio began its growing as a main touristic destination starting by the second half of the XIX Century. In fact, the place had been transformed into a very gracious hill station and, of course, it was very appreciated by the Austrian and the Central European nobility and the rich bourgeoisie. No wonder if it actually gave hospitality to the Princess Sissi and the emperor Francesco Giuseppe.
