Villa Romana del Casale
With unique mosaics in the world and fabulous frescoes on the walls, the Villa del Casale is a late-Roman to visit for those who went on a visit to Sicily. Very well kept, the hotel is renowned for its stunning architectural features, presenting four separate nuclei: the monumental entrance courtyard with three arches with horseshoe, a body organized around a peristyle court square, with garden mixtilinear bathtub in the center, a large ovoid trichora preceded by a peristyle surrounded in turn by another group of rooms a fabulous spa. But what is perhaps most striking of the whole structure are precisely the fabulous mosaics on the floor: figured in colored tiles, the mosaci have an obvious a different style for each core, a fact that means in all likelihood the use of different workers for their implementation. A real blast from the past really exciting for those who went on a visit to this magnificent mansion built in ancient times. In addition, at the entrance of the villa you can buy souvenirs, some of which even goliardic. |
