Vassallaggi
An enchanting archaeological site in the province of Caltanissetta to visit for those who go on holiday in this quiet city in Sicily. Place on the homonymous hill, in the territory of San Cataldo, Vassallaggi became the subject of archaeological excavations in 1905 and it is thanks to these excavations that it was possible to find traces of human presence from the Bronze Age to the early centuries of the Christianity, including the remains of walls, houses, paths, urban, tombs and places of worship that are now witness to a past really thriving. In addition, some products (some of which are perfectly preserved) recovered from the excavations are on display in various museums in Sicily. |
