Mount Adranone
It is the summit of Mount Adranone (in Sambuca di Sicilia) that you can visit the remains of the ancient city of Adranon: a greek-Punic settlement from the early fifth century BC, destroyed and rebuilt, according to data from archaeological excavations around the third century BC by the Carthaginians. Reemerged after archaeological excavations, you can now visit the various exhibits such as the remains of ancient dwellings, shops and more. Do not miss the queen's tomb located outside the walls. |
