Frisella
Among the various food products typical of southern Italy, deserve special attention friselle: delicious bagels wheat flour (which can sometimes be replaced with barley) cooked in the oven, the friselle (typically from Puglia, but also produced in various other locations as of southern Campania and Basilicata) are a delicacy to be savored along with fresh tomatoes or other local delicacies. A donut-shaped, the friselle being cooked twice baked bread can not be defined, although it represents an alternative to meet the needs of the most refined palates. Not difficult to prepare, frisella has served in several fine restaurants in Bari, Naples and is a mainstay ingredient of caponata. |
