Trulli of Alberobello
Not by chance that they are considered a World Heritage, the Trulli of Alberobello have a particular history linked to an edict of the Kingdom of Naples in the fifteenth century, underwent a tribute to every new urban settlement, so that the counts of Conversano, owners of the land on which Alberobello is situated today, imposed then sent to farmers in these dry lands to build without using mortar, their homes, so that they could be seen as precarious buildings and therefore easy to demolition. With domed roof adorned with decorative pinnacles, whose shape is inspired by the symbolic, mystical and religious, and the symbols painted on the roofs that often take on a religious (or sometimes may be signs of the zodiac), the trulli of Alberobello definitely worth a visit both for the charm that characterizes them, both for the climate of peace and tranquility which are able to convey to visitors. A really lovely landscape located in the heart of Apulia, which has a charm all its own. |
