Welcome to Brescia
Artistic routes and suggestive landscape make this thousand-year city an important tourist destination.
Known as the Italian Lioness, a name given it by the famous poet Giosuè Carducci, the city boasts a historical, artistic and cultural heritage that has revalued a territory which is already rich in tourist resources. People who visit Brescia cannot undoubtedly miss the Old Duomo in Romanesque style, also known as the circle for its particular circular form; built between the XIth and the XIIth centuries above the St Maria Maggiore's Basilica ruins, it's an extraordinary beauty example. Moreover, you can also visit the New Duomo (built between 1604 and 1825) that lies on the St Peter de Dom's Basilica ruins. It has an imposing beauty and has a very big cupola, the cupola is the third biggest one in Italy. You can't undoubtedly miss it. |
