The age in which it is born this ancient city is still a mystery, the first interpretations of history dating back to 300 BC when Genoa thanks to its central location on the sea entertaining important business relationships with the Phoenicians and the Greeks, bringing to become one of the most important ports of the Mediterranean. Thanks to its fleet in the twelfth century the city asserts its dominance over other common and Ligurian becomes one of the great naval powers in the Mediterranean, but finds its true strength after the Second World War, when freed from German occupation, reconstructs a great works such as the Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, the Fair of the Sea and the Sopraelevata (the causeway). Genoa is also important to remember that the land of famous artists such as: Niccolo Paganini, Fabrizio De Andrè, Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli and the great poet Eugenio Montale.
