Piazza Ariostea
Special oval-shaped piazza and the low floor, is famous for the Palio of Ferrara, one of the most important competitions of the city. Formerly called the new square was designed by Biagio Rosselli as the economic and commercial heart of the city. Today is named after the poet Ludovico Ariosto, whose statue dominates the center of the square.
Piazza Trento e Trieste
Marvelous square that dates back to medieval times, it was built with the new St. George's Cathedral and has since become the heart of the city. Indeed, it is concentrated around the headquarters of religious, civil and political. The plaza housed in fact: the cathedral, the bishop's house where now stands the Archbishop's Palace and the Loggia of the notaries. |
