The Palio of Ferrara
Born in 1279 the Palio of Ferrara is by far the oldest in the world, it is said, in fact, that in 1259 to celebrate the victory of the imperial army was Papal, Ferrara organized a horse race, jacks and mules through the streets of cities, and since then became a popular tradition in honor of St. George and Our Lady.
