Kourabiedes
Delicious cookies of the Greek cuisine that are distinguished by the intense flavor and irresistible. Made with a light pastry, usually made with almonds, the kourabiedes are often mixed with brandy and usually flavored with other flavors as metaxa, vanilla, Mastika or rose water. Shaped or crescent-shaped circles, cookies are then baked until golden brown and then be decorated with icing sugar when cooled. Prepared on special occasions like Christmas or matrmoni, the kourabiedes (sometimes also spelled kourabiethes) delicacies are only able to meet the needs of the most discerning palates. |
