Stonehenge
Located in the county of Wiltshire, not far from Amesbury, Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument known throughout the world and, today, in addition to being a mass tourist destination, Stonehenge is now a place of pilgrimage for many followers of the Celtic, and Wicca other neo-pagan religions. Built with stones aligned with a particular meaning to the solstice and equinox points, the site appears to be full of mysteries and legends, such as that of King Arthur. UNESCO World Heritage Site, Stonehenge is a must for those who went on a visit to England. |
