A delicious dish of Belgian culinary tradition that can satisfy even the most refined palates. The stew flamande (in Dutch Stoverij or Stoofvlees) is a dish that is made using beef stew stew and onion, wet with beer (which helps to give the dish a unique flavor and special) and seasoned with thyme and bay leaf. To further accentuate the flavor (in addition to the type of beer that is fundamental for the whole) are added small quantities of cider or vinegar plus a little 'sugar cane or red currant jelly mixed. Often, the dish comes with fries, boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
