Fried dough
Often made for various festive occasions such as carnival or food stands, amusement parks, fairs, rodeos and more, the fried dough is a delicious pancake typical of North America that can also be easily prepared at home to delight their taste buds. In North America is also known by other names that may vary as elephant ears or, (as it once was known in Canada), beaver tail, and other names such as fry dough, fry bread, fried bread, doughboys and frying saucers. The fried dough is a yeast dough that can be added many other ingredients to choose from granulated sugar, powdered sugar, cinnamon, fruit sauce, chocolate, cheese, maple syrup, whipped cream, tomato sauce, butter and garlic, lemon juice, honey, butter, nuts or a combination of ingredients that can obviously vary according to personal tastes. Very delicious, the fried dough are ideal to brighten up the room during a house party with friends thanks to a very pleasing appearance and taste. |
