Sometimes also spelled as börek and sometimes also called Lakror, the burek is a delicious pie probable origins of the Turkish Ottoman period. What is certain is that it is a delicacy unique to satisfy the most demanding palates with irresistible flavor that distinguishes it. Made with phyllo dough, layered, usually containing minced meat flavored with onions, the burek is a delight known and appreciated far beyond the borders of Turkey and, as with most well-known delights of the world, the burek can present variaizoni in ingredients: sometimes, in place of minced meat, the filling can be composed with feta cheese, or other types of cheese unseasoned. With yogurt in the morning, burek becomes the object of the favorite breakfast of Serbs and Bosnians who eat it in large quantities.
