Tian Tan Buddha
A bronze statue of Buddha Amoghasiddhi imposing and majestic, one of the Five Wisdom Buddhas of the Vajrayana tradition, a must for anyone who goes to Hong Kong. Built in 1993, the statue is nell'altopiano Ngong Ping, Lantau island in the west, and is now a popular tourist attraction capable of attracting visitors from raising their thanks to the authority that sets it apart. The statue of the Tian Tan Buddha (also known as the Great Buddha) is located near Po Lin Monastery and well worth a visit even for the feeling of peace and serenity that is able to convey to the viewer, and is noteworthy, the grandeur is enhanced by the still green that surrounds it as well as six smaller bronze statues known by the term of the Offer Six Deva. Besides being an important center of Buddhism, the statue symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and religion, with its 34 meters high, is one of 5 large statues of Buddha in China. |
