Gaddafi National Mosque
Headquarters of the Supreme Moslem Council of Uganda, the mosque in Kampala, majestic eyes of visitors who observe it, and a really lovely inside, it is an unmissable destination for those who go to visit the Ugandan capital. Built in 2006 and officially opened in 2007, the mosque can hold up to 15,000 faithful, excluding the space in the gallery that can accommodate an additional thousand people and the terrace that can accommodate as many as 3500. Very popular tourist destination at the local level (where among other things, a guide leads visitors to discover the wonders of the facility), the mosque also offers the chance to climb the minaret, from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. |
