Shakshuka
A hearty vegetarian dish typical of Algerian and Tunisian cuisine then introduced into Israeli cuisine by Tunisian Jews immigrated to Israel. Consisting of onion, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, eggs and spices, the dish is usually placed at the center of the table so that diners can use it comfortably without the use of cutlery, in fact, the shakshuka (or even sometimes shakshouka chakchouka, or mekbu-ba) is commonly eaten, as with many other near Eastern dishes) with bread crumbs or with pita bread, a type of unleavened flat bread, round, made from wheat flour. A very rich and nutritious dish that is used in Libya to prepare for a hearty breakfast, ideal for capturing the energy to face the day.
