Mosque
The Mosque of Chinguetti is a beautiful ancient religious structure that was built in dry stone. This wonderful place of worship was built between the thirteenth and fourteenth century and is one of the oldest religious centers in use in the Muslim world. From the architectural point of view, the mosque has a prayer hall consists of four aisles and a symbolic gateway. With its minaret tower that characterizes it, the mosque is now a national symbol of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. |
