Kitfo
Made with raw minced beef, often served with ingredients such as spices powder based niter kibbeh and spiced clarified butter, (which help to give the dish a unique flavor and detail), the kitfo (sometimes called kefto) is a delicious dish of traditional Ethiopian cuisine. The beef is chopped and marinated in mitmita, in fact a mixture of ground spices, typical local cuisine. Many time the kitfo is served as a side dish: in many parts of Ethiopia, in fact, may be an ideal accompaniment to injera, Ethiopian and other delicacy Eritrea or be accompanied by sweet cheese and boiled vegetables. Considered a luxury flat in Ethiopian cuisine, the kifto is ideal for regaining energy after a stressful day of hard work or after exhausting moments, however. |
